English 2 August-September 2013 Calendar

A calendar with due dates and an overview of each day's lesson has been made available at Edmodo English 2 August-September 2013 Calendar.

Remember, time management is crucial to a student's success. Use the calendar to help you plan ahead.

If you are absent, use the calendar to know what you have missed. You will be responsible for any assignment that was assigned prior to your absence.  Remember:

• Absences must be excused for any grade taken the day of the absence to be made up. 
• With an excused absence you have as many days as you are absent to turn in makeup work. For instance, if you are gone Monday, you have one day to turn in the assignment that was due Monday, (i.e., you have until Tuesday's class), as long as the assignment was assigned and explained prior to your absence.
• If you are gone Monday when an assignment is announced due Tuesday, you are not required to turn it in if you return on Tuesday. I will take Tuesday to explain the assignment and any information you missed that is necessary to the assignment, then you will have one day to turn it in (i.e., until Wednesday's class).
• There are no late grades in English 2. Deadlines are deadlines. If you do not meet a deadline, you will not receive credit for the assignment.
• You can always turn in assignments in advance. (But don't get ahead of yourself. Be sure you understand the assignment and the expectations before you turn it in early.)
