When I was a child, The Jetsons had hovercrafts and lived in space. The world sold us on the idea that we, too, would one day live on Mars, or at least drive hovercrafts instead of ordinary cars by the time we were 40.
Um,... I'm closing in on 40.

Well, engineers and scientists have been working on some new ideas that may bring us closer to my hovercraft. Los Angeles to San Francisco in 30 minutes? Possibly, in a hyperloop.
